A public body with legal personality that enjoys financial and administrative independence, linked to the Prime Minister and based in Riyadh.

The purpose for which the authority was established:

Enhancing the role of endowments in economic and social development and social solidarity.

Origin and establishment:

Stages of the systemic development of endowments in the Kingdom:

1381 AH The establishment of the Ministry of Hajj and Endowments.

1386 AH The statute of the Supreme Council of Endowments was issued.

1393 AH The issuance of the regulation for charitable endowments.

1414 AH The issuance of the Royal Decree establishing the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance.

1431 AH The establishment of the General Authority for Endowments and the abolition of the agency of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance for Endowments Affairs.

1437 AH The issuance of the General Authority of Endowments Law.

Objectives of the General Authority of Endowments:

The Commission aims to regulate, maintain, develop and develop endowments in a manner that fulfills the conditions of its endowments, and enhances its role in economic and social development and social solidarity, in accordance with the objectives of Islamic law and regulations.
